Get Great Color Using What You Already Know
Sat, Nov. 12th, 2011 from 10 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
In my studio: Goochland, Virginia (halfway between Richmond & Charlottesville)
 Coffee, tea & coffeecake will be served. $45 per person.

The studies in this intensive workshop will guide you to apply what you already know in order to achieve more powerful color in your work. Each person will be challenged at their individual learning limit while working together to understand:
     • mixing color so that it's a 'spot-on' match for what you see or want
     • controlling values for a strong compositional impact of color
     • 'getting the glow' so that objects pop and shine
     • inviting "gray" to be the foil for colorful points of interest (time permitting)
     • using edgework to give sparkle and drama to your colors

This busy day of painting will strengthen both your perception of color and your ability to get it to match your vision. This workshop starts where the The Painter's Workbook leaves off. Although it is not required (all levels are welcome!), any work you do in advance from the Workbook will serve you well, especially the unit on color. By the end of the day, everyone will be given a clear Next Step Plan to continue their studies. Join in and take your paintings to the next level!
